Climate change

Hi,
This blog post is about Hurumanu Science and we are learning about climate change in the globe. So first of all we are going to watch the video of the climate change to get some ideas. So after we watched the video we have to answer this questions at the bottom. I hope you like it and also comment in this post about what you think about it.  


Aim: To look at the causes of climate change and how to prevent it.


As you watch the video answer these questions: 

What is our greatest threat in thousands of years? A Disaster in the Earth


How do we see climate change affecting the globe? Climate change is affecting the earth first of all    ( Tornadoes, Flood , Ice Melting, Rainy, Windy, tsunami  )
  1.   Tornadoes
  2.  Tsunami
  3. Windy
  4. Ice melting water rising


What is needed to change history? Change by not cutting down the trees in the jungle and not burning rubbish around the globe.

Is climate change a man made distaster? It is a man made disaster.

Dramaitc action must be made in the next __ years to change it? In a dramatic action.

Why is our climate changing?  It is because of ( Fossil Fuels )

What is causing the warming trend of the climate? It is because we are burning Fossil Fuels to create more and more oil.

What is the main problem?  There more and more carbon dioxide 

What are examples of these? The example is the ( Nasa, Japan and also others ) they were showing the same grid lines.

Burning fossil fuels releases what gas?  It is Radio dioxide

How much hotter now is our world? 

What do we call this global warming?

How is this affecting creatures / animals like bats? They are dying because of the climate change and also the Carbon Dioxide in the Globe.

What percentage of species are near extinction?  There is only 8 percent of animals in a cold part of the country is dying because they are in the cold place of the earth and the ice is slowly melting down in the place were they are staying. Then the water is rising up

How could this effect the world ecosystems? The world is just getting to hot and fire is easy to get when it is really how that's why in some places are burning.

What global change was seen and recording breaking last year?  The Earth temperature is slowly going down. The coldest part of the Earth in the ( Antarctica ) is melting a lot and it is getting to warm in Antarctica.

How is climate change affecting our weather systems? 
1. Heavier rain... flooding
2.  Droughts  (no rain)
3.  More wild storms/hurricanes

What is another effect of climate change? Animals die

What will happen if the ice melts in Antarctica and the Arctic? The water will rise and rise around the globe. Then some country will get a lot of floods

How does this affect people? It effects people because their shelters are getting knocked out by strong winds and floods. They cannot grow food; their animals die

What other things affect oceans change? The ocean is getting a filled up with rubbish. (especially plastic)

What does to much heat do to coral? In the last tree yeas the coral's have died... the bacteria dies in the heat.

Why did some industries not want to stop burning fossil fuels? They did not want to stop because they are going to lose money because they are creating energy fromFossil Fuels,

Investigation

You can decide on how you would like to do this investigation. Your presentation could be on the blog, slides, or PowerPoint.


Write a definition, upload an image and list where these fossil fuels are mined.

  1.    Coal-  Coal Is a strong rock which can be burned as solid fossil fuels. It is mostly carbon but also hydrogen, Sulphur, Oxygen, Nitrogen.
  2. Oil- A liquid Preparation used on the hair or skin cosmetic.
  3. Natural Gas- Natural gas also could Fossil Gas is naturally hydrocarbon gas mixture.

Write a paragraph and upload an image about each of these renewable energy.


  1. Solar- Solar is a metal that absorbed sun heat and make an energy out of it. Then the energy goes to our shelters and then we can use electricity in our homes. We use the electricity to turn lights and also use technology in the country.    
  2. Wind- Wind we also use winds to create electricity. By using a windmill creates an electricity when the wind is so fast at spinning and it will create lot so electricity. 
  3. Waves- Waves Involve the transport of energy without the trans port of mater. In conclusion, a wave can be describe as disturbance that ravels through a medium, transporting energy from one location it's source. To another location without location without transporting matter.
  4. Hydro- Hydro is a form of renewable energy that uses the water in dams, as well as following in river to create electricity. In hydro power plants the rotating blades spin a generator that converts the mechanical energy of the spinning turbine into electrical. 

Write a 6 sentence reflection about what you have learnt about Climate Change and how it is going to affect us.  

In climate change I have learnt lots and lots of new things that I haven't known before. So some of this is just new for me because some of it can't understand it because of the words that we heard from the video that we have watched. So I didn't really know that they use rivers to create electricity and that is the one fact that I did not know before.

Shoes

Hi,





What do you think your shoes does when you left them at your house or in your bedroom anywhere part of your house what do you think they would do?

Here is a story that I have made here it is I hope you like it.

Before school I was getting late to school and we have sports today so when I have arrive at the school. I was thinking about something because I think I forgot something at home left something. Now I know I left my sports shoes at home. But I was so lucky we have to do sports inside the gym. So I took my school shoes of and got inside the gym. What do you think my school shoes are doing the shoes ties got loose and it turned into a line a very long line but it is just thin like normal shoes. But the school shoes is connected to another shoes so it is connected to a sports shoes so they were all working together to connect the shoe lies-es from school to home. Finally the shoes got connected to the sports shoes that got left at home then the school shoes is texting it with the shoe lies-es so the school shoes said what are you doing right now the sport shoes said I am sleeping and it is very cold in here. Then the school shoes said can you come very quickly at school but the sports shoes does not know were's the way to school because it is always inside the bag. The school shoes tried to get out of the house it look every where part of the house so it's last chance he has to go threw the dogs door so it jump right threw it then got out of the house. Finally so the school shoes are still telling him witch way is the school the school shoes said go right so the sports shoes goes right very quickly but he has to cross the road. Then the sports shoes had an Idea it could just run from were the sports shoes is to the other side without stopping at the middle of the road. After the sports shoes cross the road the school shoes said keep going straight until you find the first street then when you sea it go left I mean right. So a few minutes later the sports shoes said I did the right turn so the school shoes said if you can sea the orange circle colour go close to it. Then go threw the fence because that's the only way into the school so the school shoes is now telling the sports shoes the way to the gym so when the sports shoes finally got front of the gym they got a bog problem the sports shoes can't get inside the gym. Then the school shoes had an Idea the school shoes said to the other shoes inside the gym we need to stuck to

CIP

Hi,
This blog post is about CIP in CIP we are focusing how to be ( Kind ) So first of all we answered a few questions. After that we have to answer another questions so here is the 2 questions that we have to do here it is.


What are some things we talked about in our group discussion?
In the group discussion we talked about how or discuss about what we are going to answer the questions. So we talked about colouring so the colouring is like we have to create an advertisement to share to a different schools. Then we have to answer a few questions that's why we can have an idea of what we are answering.

How do you think we should organise this event?
Maybe we could like partner up the children from different school to another school and then we could do the art competition. That's why they could meet other children from other children and they maybe could show kindness to each other.

Hurumanu Drawing

  • What animals keep our jackets warm?
The animal that keep's our jacket really warm is the sheep because their fluffy hair around their body is really warm.e.g. duck feathers
  • What animal makes our boots waterproof?
The animal that makes our boots water proof because of the dead cow their skin is like a water resistant. So it makes it water proof.
  • Where does the water in our rivers come from?
The water comes from a mountain because when it snows in the winter the mountain get's so much snow. Then in summer the snows melt and go's into a like and it is really cold.
  • Why do we need healthy rivers?
That's why we can drink water at any river around the world. Fish need to be healthy.
  • What are some of the good things about mosquitoes?
Good things about mosquitoes is they clean the lake and we are very lucky that we have some of those mosquitoes that cleans the lake. 
  • Why are bees dying?
Bees are dying because some people get really frightened of them and then they kill the bee.
  • What do bugs do to our leaves
They reduce leaves 
  • Reduce- 
  • Reuse- Using the materials again like a drinking bottle you can use it over and over again.
  • Recycle- Recycling the Recyclable materials like plastic bottles, plastics.
  • How much dung would we be in if there were no dung de- composers?
There would be so much dung in the world For example ( The dung will be about 7 metres high around the worlds and it would be very stinky )
  • Who runs this planet?
People and animals work together to run the planet and keep it clean

Ph Independents day

Hi,
This blog post is about Philippines Independence day because this week in June is the Philippines Independence day. I have write some facts about the Philippines Independence day here it is I hope you like it and also comment on this blog post about what you think about it.

Philippines Independence day. In June 12, 1898 the flag of the Philippines so the first person that rise the flag in the Philippines is Emilio Aguinaldo. The design of the flag has a meaning ( The Blue, Red means the state of the war ) Independence day mean Araw- ng kaliyaan or in English day of freedom. A horizontal colour of blue and red; with a white equilateral triangle based at the hoist. Containing three 5- pointed gold stars at its vertices and 8- rayed gold sun at its center. It is designed by Emilio Aguinaldo.

CIP

Hi,
This week in CIP we have made a DLO about ( Needs VS Wants ) So before that we have been sitting on the mat and listening to the instructions of what we are going to do. But first we shared a few examples of the mat to get some few ideas to write in our DLO. Learning story

Hi,
This blog post is about our learning story. So this learning story is about our subject and the subject is about our Hurumanu music so we have to write about how did we work together us a group. So here is my learning story I hope you like it and also comment what you think about it.



In Hurmanu music we have been doing different things and also some of it that we haven’t learned before. Like the bands that we have done in music people that we did not know that sang that song that we know and we also did not know that they are from New Zealand. We also did the solo artist it was kind of the same but there was only one person singing.

Then we made a theme song in an Ipad and we use the app garageband. We were in a group of 3 and three of us were thinking how we are going to make a theme song. Then 3 of us take turns to make a sound each instruments and also us 3 shared Ideas to make a sound in the garageband. When we were done we recorded the theme song in one of our chromebook and just shared it in our hall group.

Decades is the one that we have a buddy and we have to work with them to make the decades slides. The decades slide is where we put the famous songs in 1900s to 2000s. When it was only five minutes left and we haven’t done the slides and we have to work more faster because we haven’t the done the slides. So after five minutes we have completed our work in time.

Describe how different music makes you feel so we listened to a theme song. Then shared a few Ideas at the mat were we were seating. So I got a few Ideas to write about the theme song that we have listened to because we got to share an ideas.

This week in CIP we have been watching videos about sharing kindness to other people like in the shops malls. So we watch a video about sharing the kindness. So I am going to write about the video that we have watch and what did we notice about that video that we have watch. So here is the writing that I have made I hope you like it.


One day a family wen't to the store and there is three of them walking with a push cart. They we buying food for there Grand father's Birthday. They were buying different kinds of snacks in the store and then the girl wanted the small biscuit with a purple wrap. But the Grandma take the big ones because they were buy 1 get 1 free so they just take that one. After that the Grandma said you could get something else for your Grandpa then the little girl got to the cake part of the store and looking for a cake to buy for there Grandpa. Then she saw a man grab the cake that she wanted but that kind man give it to here. When they finish buying in the store they were at the counter and they were paying for there stuff that they have bought in the store. But when they were paying for the cake it costs a lot of money and they just can't afford it. The little girl was very sad because it was his Grandpa's Birthday and he does not have any cake. So the Grandma said to the counter could you please return the cake then when they got outside that man earlier the one who gave the cake to the little girl he bought here cake. Then after paying for it he chased them outside the store and give it to the little girl that wanted the cake for her Grandpa.

So the Grandma said to the man when he was giving the cake to them she said no to the man. But then he told them a story that one day an old man was in the queue. That when the man when he was a kid he also wanted to buy the cake because it was his birthday that day. So he said to his mom I want to choose my own cake in the queue. So the old man bought the cake and give to the young man that wanted the cake. Then he said Happy Birthday then give the cake to the boy and then the parent of the young man said what is you number and his name and wrote in down into a piece of paper. Then the little kid did not get to say thank you to that man. After he was telling the story the Grandma said can I ask your name the he said I am the man in the queue. Then the man give a piece of paper to them when they got home they give the cake to there Grandpa. The Grandpa said why did you bought so many stuff then the grandma said we did not actual bought that mutch stuff. We got so many stuff because they man bought us the cake for your Birthday. Then the Grandpa look at the piece of paper and it kind of piece of paper that he wrote in the past few years. At the end the sang happy birthday to there Grandpa.
