Music

Hi,

Today I'm going to be making a new blog post about Music. We need to research about Matariki because it is coming up, we also need to choose a song based about Matariki. Me and Alex made DLO's that shows facts about Matariki, we also pick a song, it's not just based on Matariki, it is about Matariki. It says the name of all the stars and sisters. It sounded really cool and it is relaxing. Even though its in Maori language I think you will also like it because it's about the stars.

 Matariki facts.

Matariki is a star cluster and not a constellation

A cluster is a group of stars that are near each other in space. When seen from Earth, the stars in a constellation appear to be close together in a pattern, but they are really far from each other. There are about 500 stars in the Matariki cluster, but only six or seven are visible without a telescope.

Matariki song.

Here are the lyrics for the song and also what they mean..

Waitī, Waitā, Waipunarangi,

Tupu-ā-nuku, Tupu-ā-rangi, Ururangi e

Koinei ngā tamariki o Matariki
(These are the children of Matariki)

Ngā whetū e pīataata i te rangi e
(The bright stars that shine in the sky)

Ngā whetū e pīataata i te rangi e
(The bright stars that shine in the sky)

Here is the picture of the Matariki Cluster and the names of the seven stars or the seven sisters.

So, What does Matariki Mean??
Matariki is all about celebration, and spending time with family. Matariki was also important for agriculture. The coming of Matariki symbolised the harvest festival where the Maori feasted on the crops they had prepared. Matariki is important because it also is the time to restart the Maori calendar.

The person who wrote Matariki was Maaka Fiso's

The stars are about to align, signaling the start of the Māori New Year and also the release of Auckland-based singer, songwriter Maaka Fiso's latest single

Descriptive writing

Hi,
This week in Hurumanu music we have a made a theme song. Then write about it in our blog so we are writing about a place that we imagine when we listen to the theme song that we have made. But the writing that we have we are not going to write that we have made the song. Here is the writing that I have done in Hurumanu music I hope you like it.

Descriptive writing
-27.5.19
L:O Create a piece of writing that describes a place or setting
inspired by your song.

People were playing wooden and string instruments and it was really loud like a thunder in the sky.
At the end it was starting to be relaxing like sleeping at night and the bass was amazing, it was like a
famous theme melody. Then when it was almost the end the theme melody was getting higher and
higher and the clouds turned grey and it started to rain. The rain hits the roof really loud like hail, it was
in the tune of the drum. When the melody was starting over again the clouds spread out in the sky then
the theme melody started over again then the sun came out with a bright afternoon. The grass dried,
birds are chirping and it was a relaxing afternoon. The bell rang loudly and I had to go back to class.

ASMR

Hi,
Today we watch two videos in Hurumanu music we also made some brainstorm so when we watch the video we can have some ideas how the did it. So the first video that we watch was a girl and she was singing softly. The second video that we have watch was the girl eating Alovera and she was opening it after she opened it she tasted the Alovera.

1) Have you heard of ASMR before? I have heard ASMR before in a video

2) What did you feel when you listened to the ASMR music? I feel A goosebumps in the first video

3) Is this something you'd like to try making? Maybe yes or no because some of it are gross

The second video that we have watch

1) Have you heard of ASMR before? I have heard it before

2) What did you feel when you listened to the ASMR music? I feel that when she ate the Aloavera it was kind of gross and it was also slimmy.

3) Is this something you'd like to try making? I think no because it does not make me feel good.

Own song

Hi,
In Hurumanu music we wrote our own song and not copy writing in the internet. Here is the song the I have created I hope you like it.

Band and Musician Biography

Hi,
So in music we have been searching up a famous person who lives in New Zealand and sing something that we like. So I choose Stan Walker and now we have to write his legal name and his stage name. Also when he was born we also need to write what is our favourite song that he sang and also his awards, Genre and Interesting fact.

Band Biography is kind of similar to the musician biography but in the band biography. There are more people singing not only just one.  We also have to write the stage name, Group members, Date formed, Favourite song that they sang, Awards, Genre, Interesting fact about them. The band the I chose is the Break co-op.
