I am a student at in Uru Mānuka. In 2020 I was a year 8 and in 2021 I will be a year 9. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. In English we needed to read a short story and answer a few questions and the Title of the story is The Springbok Tour Protest here is what I have done.
1.) What is another word for apartheid?
Discrimination and Racism.
2.) Why did the protester need helmets?
It is because the police used special long Baton to hit the protesters.
3.) Why was Hamilton rugby game cancelled?
The Hamilton game was cancelled because of the hundreds of anti-tour protesters occupied the field chanting.
4.) Why do you think being called honorary whites upset the Maori All Blacks?
It is because they don't like being called hononary whites they only want to represent their country.
5.) Do you think this protest was successful? Why? Why not?
I think the protest was successful because All Blacks today are still continuing playing rugby.
6.) How do you think the New Zealand protest helped Nelson Mandela>
I think it helped Nelson Mandela to think what he was gonna do when he becomes the presidents

In English we were learning about some sentence starters about Adverb here is the work that we have done.
The Adverb Sentence:
Adverbs describe verbs. e.g Surprisingly, Confusingly, Firstly, Remarkbly, Often.
Adverb sentence starters add interest or intrigue to our work.
Remember the rule: When you start a sentence with an adverb, place a comma after the adverb then write the rest sentence.
Examples- Accidentally, Shockingly, Concerningly, Excitedly, Significantly,Similarly, Simply.

Today I will be introducing you to Ernesto Guevara de la Serna also known as Che Guevara.
Born in 1928 June 14 at Rosario Argentina. He later on became a Marxist revolutionary, Physician, Author, Guerilla leader, Diplomat and a Military Theorist. He went to University of Buenos Aires for schooling, but then he also left the school to continue his travelling. He travelled to different countries, such as Africa and South America. In 1953 Che Guevara completed his medical degree and he became a fully qualified doctor. In September 1954, Che Guevara found a job as a doctor in Mexico City Hospital for 2 years, but he also left the Hospital to take part in Military Training exercise on 26th of July 1956.
October 9th 1967 he got assassinated and got shot 9 times before dying, he was assassinated at La Higuera, Bolivia, the person who shot him was Mario Teran Salazar.
