Last Blog Post

Hi,
This blog post is our last post this year so we are writing about what we have like doing this year and what we have done. So I really like going on a trip like going to Jellie Park so that trip was our last trip also. I like that trip because we went swimming outside and we got to go on the hydro slide. I also like being with my friends playing with them and it was really fun because we did lots of things.

The second thing that I like about what we have done this year is going to the Orana park because I have never been there before. So it was my first time and I saw some different animals that I have never seen before. We can also take photos of the animal and we got to go and feed the giraffes it was really fun.

What was new to me this year was being with a new class and new friends and be with my old friends again this year. Also meeting my friend friends and getting to know them this year I also made some new friends that did not know before. So that is what I like about this year at school.

Te Reo Moari

Hi,
So in the Te reo Maori we have listened to a short story of a man and a waitiaki. So one day poutini saw waitaiki in the lake and she like her and kidnap her. So the husband searched for waitiaki gone threw his spear up in the sky and the spear shows the way to the waitiaki. The husband fallowed the spear and keep going in the right place because he can see the ashes of the fire. Then the husband just keep following the spear and poutini jump in the river and the spear was telling him to go on the other way. Poutini who kidnap the woman, he turned waitiki into a Pounamu stone that's why the man that was chasing them couldn't find the woman.

After the teacher told as that short story we were in a circle and the teacher showed as the Pounamu's stone and they were really cool. One of the Pounamu's was use for fighting and some of them was use for wearing like a neacklease.

Issac Grien

Hi,
So Last week of school in Monday Issac Grien wen't to our school and shared the story of his travelling from different part of the world to a different part again. So he just used something similar to a boat and a kayak. So he bought a lot of foods and other things to survive in the middle of the ocean he also brought a bucket to use as a toilet. So in his boat there was a little bedroom where he can sleep so he took about that and what it was like to be travelling with a boat.

So after he talk about his experience we were going back to class in  the exit door the teacher gave some cards from Issac Grien. He also bought his boat to school so he could show it to us. I also hope that you like my blog post.

Holiday Break

Hi
In the Holidays we were at home and just cleaning some parts of the house and also helping my mom wash the dishes. Me and my brother also wash all of our clothes and our parents clothes so after we wash the clothes we folded them then put it inside the closet. Then we watch a series in Netflix so we have watch the Seven Deadly sins but we watched the movie of it.

So what happen to the movie is that there captain got stuck in the sky thing because they were trying to catch a sky fish to cook for dinner. After we watched the movie I did some homework and I only finished four of the vocabulary then the next week in Sunday night I did some home work and it is reading activity and I finished all of the activity. So that's all I have done in the school Holidays.

Orana Park

Hi,
On Monday we went to Orana Park. So first we have waited inside the entry of the school for the bus so we are closer to the outside. We can also see the bus through the window. So we were in a groups so the groups was 1 and 2 so I was in the group 2 so I got splited with some of my friends and some of my friends were with me. When the bus came in the school the group one went first to get in the bus then a few minutes the group 2 was heading to the bus. Few people went to the van with a teacher driving. Then we got inside the bus and sit on the sites inside the bus and we were inside the bus for a few minutes and we finally got off the bus. We waited outside the gate of the Orana Park and waited for the teachers that leads us were to go inside the Orana Park and also talk about the expectations inside the Orana Park.

When we got inside the Orana Park we went to the Meerkats and took a picture of them because they were so cool but they are quite small but cute. After we saw the Meerkats we walk to the then past the
playground at the Orana Park.  Then we keep on walking until we got to the river were ducks swims and that is were we got splited into our groups. But the teachers also talk about what we don't do to the animals. After that talking we went inside the little house were the reptiles lives and others like frogs that lives there they were camouflaging because there skin is green and were they live is green because leaves are green and also the frogs.

When we were finish at the little house we went to the spider monkey the spider monkeys is lot like a monkey because the shape of their body and also the skin. So spider monkeys are on a little Island and that is were they live and there is a water around there home that's why they don't get away from the park. There homes has lots of ropes because they like climbing. They ate grass from the home were they live because all over their home has a grass and its actually look like a hill field. But they weren't there because they are still inside their house and we just got to look at the spider monkeys on a window.

After we look at the spider monkey we when to the Lions they were actually pretty big and the teacher said that they grown more than they thought. So there was 9 Lions all together in the Orana Park and
when we saw them one lion was roaring and it was actually pretty loud but. After we saw the spider monkeys we saw the springbook and one of them was closer so we got a closer look and the springbook was digging.

When we walk we got to the tiger and the tiger wasn't there maybe it was in the cage.

Digital Tech

Hi,
In Digital Tech we have to write a reflection about scratch and sphero. So first I have write about the scratch. Scratch is a coding game in scratch you can make your own game and also play your classmates scratch that they have made. Sphero and scratch is kind of similar because in scratch you code it and you put the blocks to control the character. In sphero you also use a block to control the robot then it will move by itself. If they ask me what I prefer I would pick sphero because it is a robot and you can make the block to make it move like on scratch and also you can control it with a joystick.
So in sphero we use an Ipad and we can't put the link in our blog because it is in an ipad.

What is scratch- Scratch is a software or computer programme. In Scratch you can make games and animations.
What is sphero- Sphero is a robot that is sphere and you can play with it you can connect your ipad in the robot.

What do they have in common- Scratch and sphero are similar because they have the coding.
Which app do you prefer to us why- I prefer to choose sphero because it is fun and also easy to use.
How can you use that app to solve your problem- Scratch can help make a work of an animation bot like sphero.

Hurumanu PE

Hi,
in the last few weeks we have been doing hurumanu PE. So we are practising how to teach our classmates how to play basket ball so each team has a different kinds of sports so they also have to teach us what sport they are doing. So before our team do some practise we have to do a maths in maths we have been measuring the field and also figuring out how many buckets of paint we need to pain the whole field. So in our groups there is six of us and we half it again and there is one only three of us now so the three of us trying to figure out what is the answer to the questions.

After the maths the second half of Hurumanu PE we practise the Basketball that we are going to teach. So first we have to practice our warm up then the drills so our warm up. So we started our drills so our drills was layups and shooting from the free pointer. Also different drills when the second half is almost done we have played a big game of basketball and when we started the bell ring and we did not get to play that long.

After that week we have played bench ball the team french fries teach us how to play bench ball so first we did some warm up the warm up was star jump, high knees, sprints, sneak up on granny. When we played sneak up on granny I tried my best to be the granny and a run as fast as I could when the granny isn't looking and I manage to touch the granny and I become granny. It was fun for me when I become granny.

After the warm we have played bench ball so first the year 7 vs year 7 then the other side is year 8 vs year 8. So I am a year 7 so I played in the year 7 after a few minutes our team has lost in the game of bench ball but it was still fun. When we have come back from lunch we were versing all of the year 8 and there is all of the year 7 also. It was fun because the game was so big and the bench was long and we have more space. There was no outline so it was more fun. When they passed the ball to me I throw it as hard as I can to get it closer to my classmates beside the bench. We were trying our best to win but a few minutes later we lost to the year eights because they are so good at playing bench ball.

CIP

Hi,
In CIP we have been doing a project we have made a DLO that supports a company the Terracycle company. So in CIP I have made a DLO slide show that can help their company. We are posting some DLO in our blog and also in the Facebook page of the school. People who will get involve in our CIP is the people in the community like whanua members. I thing we will collect about to a 80kg or higher.

Ella West

Hi,
In the assembly Ella West visited our school because a class read her book and she so the blogs of the class and she likes it and she wanted to go to the school. When we got in the auditorium we all sat down on the chairs and waited for the assembly to start. So first a student speaks and welcoming Ella West. After that Ella West went up on the stage and speaks at the stage. So first she talk about the Night Vision book when we she talking about it she was putting some pictures up on the projector so we can see what she's talking about. So the picture was a car that was burning on fire so she said what are the ways to kill people then other students from other classes put their hands up and says some ways to kill other people so the student said you can burn them because they so the car burning on the projector so they had the idea to say it. The next photo was a sheeps on the farm so Ella West said this place has no people and it is quite no cars driving around the road and no aeroplane a lot flying above the sky. So she also talked about a baby that was not allowed to get sun on her skin so she wears a plastic to cover her face and also a clothe for the body. Then she put a photo of a forest and she said about the forest if you got loss in the forest you see a helicopter above the sky and light it and they will see you because they are wearing Night Vision googles. So they will see you because if you wear a night vision googles and a light goes in your eyes it will blind you because it is so bright and you will just see white. Then she put a photo of her dog then she said that the dog in the night vision story was a real dog and it was her dog.

Digital Tech

Hi,
In digital tech we have been researching some information about the issues in the earth. So first be fore we did some research we have to pick what we are going to research about.

I have chosen to do the environmental issue so in the environmental issue I search about the air pollution and also search up ( Why did they use plastic in the first place when it is going to make the air polluted? ) I have chosen this issue because the air is getting polluted so I want to research about the Environmental Issue because in the environment there's some pollution. So I got interested in the environmental Issue then I have research why did we use plastic in the first place and it says that is was use first in US and they use it for the radar that allowed them to place it in the aeroplane.

So the teacher has shared us a document so we can put the things that we have research in google. When we are researching we have to right it in our own words in the document. Then in the document there is a columns and it says that we have to come up with our own questions so I put my own question in the column then I have to search it up in google and right what I found in my own words at the bottom of the question. After we done that there is a column beside the question and it says what was in the first research that you search up in google and we have to write about what was in the google that I have search. There is 3 columns that says that so that is what we have done in digital tech so far.

PE

Hi,
In Hurumanu PE the teachers have shared us a document that we have to do so the teacher has already put us in a group. So we have to find the members in our group and we have to work together and answer the questions in the document. So we have to choose a sport for teaching our classmates to do the sport so the sport that we have chosen was Basket Ball. In the document that the teacher have shared us we have to put write the rules in the document and some drills in Basket Ball.

After a few days we have done PE again and we have to continue working in the document and finish it. So me and my group gathered again and work together again then putting the drills in a sentence so they understand what we are meaning like the word double dribble. We have to write a sentence on the like double dribble means when you dribble the ball and stop and hold it and dribble again that is what double dribble means.

After we did the document we have to go in the gym and practice our warm up that we have wrote in the document that the teacher that has shared to us. So in the gym me and my group jog around the court. Then after that we have did some shooting on the hoop so that is what we have done in Hurumanu PE

So after a few weeks the All Black player named Anton Leinert Brown he has send as a short video clip saying thank you very much for our hard work that we have made for the All Blacks players. So that is the short message Anton Leinert Brown gave us. Thank you very much for sending us a short feed back about what we have been doing in CIP thank you very much. We were also very happy when we got to sea the video message that Anton Leinert Brown gave us. I was very thankful because all that things that we have done in CIP we have gotten a feed back from a player.

All Blacks

Hi,
In CIP I have made a poster to All Blacks Players. But first we have to choose what we are going to do we have some choices the choices are making some posters video and other things. So I did my own one in a piece of paper and we have to draw and write a letter to an All Blacks Players. Here is my drawing.



Hurumanu PE

Hi,
The first time that we have done in Hurumanu so first we have been split into groups that the teacher have made. So after we got altogether and find the person in our group. After find all of the person in our group we have to come up with a team name so our team name is Celtics. A few minutes later the teacher shared a document to us and it is about fitness that we are going to do.

So we went inside the gym and did some fitness so first our group was in the sit ups section so in 30 seconds we have to do much sit ups as possible as we can so in sit ups I got 15 sit ups in 30 seconds. The second section that we have was the sit and reach so in the sit and reach I got 20 mm. The third section that we have done is grip test so in grip test I got 13 times in 30 seconds. So after that we were in the vertical jump section so first we have to put our hands up when I put my hands up I reach 2.0 Meters when I jump I reach 2.4 meters high.

The second time we have done PE is a Beep Test. So first we have to get change in to our PE gear so we are comfortable to do PE. After that we got inside the gym and sat down on the side of the gym and listen to the instruction that the teacher is giving us. So the teacher put some cones in the gym and we have to run from a cone and to he other cone when we only hear a beep.So the boys when of first and did the beep test so I ran couple of times but I only reach level 6 stage 3.

Hi,
In CIP we have wrote a letter to somebody important to us. Like a teacher at school, Mum, Dad, Brother, Grandpa, Grandma or other family members. So after we wrote a letter to them we have to show it to a teacher and when they cheeks it we will have to share our writing to someone that was important to us so that is what we have done in CIP. CIP

Hi,
This blog post is about kids can. So I have made a DLO about what kids can does and search some of the question to write in the DLO. Here is the DLO that I have made.

CIP

Hi,
In CIP we have been working on a mufti day for the Crazy Kids Can. So first of all we have started splitting into groups my group is posters so I have to make a poster using a paper and drawing the information or write it down in the paper or you could write in fancy letters and write the information in the piece of paper. Some of the groups a re working on devices and they are create some DLO to present or share in the school. We shared the DLO by showing it up into the TV's at school that is why they know that we have planned that we have doing a mufti day the date of the mufti day is in August 8  Thursday. We are doing this mufti day for the Crazy Kids Can because we are also donating gold coin to give at the Crazy Kids Can. The theme of the mufti day is the radical rainbow so we have a choice we can wear a different colours in our own or we can pair up with some friends and make a rainbow with your friends. We choose the radical rainbow by voting some themes in the class so the final theme that we have voted was radical rainbow that's why we have to wear that in the mufti day.

What as the planning process? How did we come up with our theme?
The planning process was making groups and splitting the teachers are splitting us into groups. We came up with the radical rainbow by voting some theme for the mufti day so the final vote that we all have voted is the radical rainbow.

Who are we raising our money for? What do you know about them?
We are raising money for the (Crazy Kids Can) by donating some gold coin to the Crazy Kids Can. I know that Crazy Kids Can is dressing up like crazy.

What makes a successful mufti day?
I think to make the mufti day successful is by wearing the radical rainbow.

What jobs did you have/ Will you have
My job was to make a poster to display at school.

How is this spreading kindness to our community?
It's spreading it by helping kids can and donating some gold coins.

Art

Hi,
This blog post is about Art. In art we have been making a script for our animation so each of us in the same group we have to write a script about the stop motion that we are going to do. We have done our script in a google doc that's why it is easy to find a not messy. Also we can share it to our group members. here is the Script that I have made so far but this script not quite done yet because sometimes we don't have enough time to do the writing here is the writing that I have made I hope you like it here it is.

It all started in a city in January 14, 3018 a group of people went boating and got lost in the sea. After a few minutes the sky got dark in the sky so it started raining heavily. Then a huge wave was coming towards us and it splash right through us and we pass out in the middle of the sea. When the group of people woke up they got into an Island and they never know about it and it was kind of new. So when they all woke up there was only two people. The two people who survive in the crash is ( Adam, Jimmy ) 
Adam- Adam is a person who lives in a town that is called THE CANYON the place that you can’t see any canyon.
Jimmy- Jimmy lives in a city where people go always and gets crowded he lives in the city that is called 
So there was only two of them in the Island they were figuring out how to get out of the Island so they help each other to get out of the Island so one day. They decided to make about that’s why they can get out of the Island. So they spend their life hunting for some food like a pig and cook it. Also make fire out of wood to cook the pig so they eat that pig they shared the food together they build a shelter that is made out of wood so they don’t get cold at night. So first of all, they cut down so many trees and cut it in half and stack the woods together. After a few days they finish the house. So they were walking around the Island then they saw a lion and face eagle it was flying around the volcano the face was black the eyes were red, The body was yellow. Then they came up with a name the name is Trigel but after they came up with the name. Trigel so Adam and Jimmy, So Trigel chase both of them and when trigel was getting closer he was getting bigger and bigger. So Adam and Jimmy found a tiny hole at the side were Trigel can’t fit. So Jimmy and Adam jump right through the hole but then there was a problem Trigel can also change its size so Trigel got smaller than Adam and Jimmy. But Trigel was just trying to be friends with both of them. So they were just calm and took Trigel and the shelter were Adam and Jimmy live for now. A few days later they started making bout to go home in the city so they use some of their spare woods to make there bout. They finally finish the boat so they decided to go home but they were worried about Trigel. So they took him with them to the city so they hide Trigel in a cloth because he can also shrink and get small. So they lived happily ever after there in the Island.





Maths

Hi,
This Blog post is about the maths that we have. In maths we did so problem solving the problem solving we did was about the gulls eating some worms because had been a rainy day. Here is what we have done in maths.

The activity was the trying to problem solving the question and working with a group also taking turns to answer the question. The Strategy that we have try was 11 times tables because in the question it said that the gulls are satisfied with 11 worm in one sitting so we wrote down 30 11 in the paper. The questions was also quite challenging because we have to do some division to find the right answer and we also can't answer it on the right number because it is division. I think me and my group did not quite get successful because we it was pretty challenging to us because it is division.

Acidification

Water Vapour

What effects is this having on climate change?

When the trees in the forest gets cut down the birds will not be able to make some shelter up the tree. Maybe they also can't find food and don't have anything to eat like worms. Maybe someday wouldn't able to live again.

We will be conducting an experiment that looks at the different ways that climate change is affecting the water cycle.

  1. Get the vivid and the bag 
  2. Draw the water cycle outside the bag
  3. Then put one cup of water or Soda water
  4. After that put two drops of food colouring  
  5. Put a litmus paper hanging inside the bag and don't get it wet
  6. Hang the bag against the window to get sunlight and starts to condense

9: The Acidity was large.


Conclusion:


In the Bag 1 the Cycled water has a small amount of water and the acidity was low. The Bag 2 has a acid and it is different from the first one. The amount of water was small and the acidity of it was very large because we have put soda in it. The Bag 3 was a sand and the amount of water is small the acidity was large.
