Hurumanu 2

 Hi,

In Hurumanu 2 we learned about different kinds of shots and angles of shots. Here is the activity that we have done.

Angle: Low Angle
Effect:  Powerful, Heroic or Dangerous

Angle:  High Angle
Effect:  Vulnerable, weak or frightened

Shot: Extreme Long Shot/Establishing Shot
Effect:   A shot that demonstrates the location of the scene before it begins. Often establishes mood and general situation.

Shot: Medium Shot

Effect:  - Shot shows subject in relation to some immediate surrounding; usually from waist up. Focus on emotion as well as actions.

Shot:  Close up
Effect: Shot taken close to subject to reveal details or emotions. Fills the whole frame.

Shot: Long Shot
Effect:  Shows the subject at a distance. Focus tends to be on the scenery rather than the character. Sets the scene and the character’s place in it. (E.g. a student in detention or preparing for a sprint)

Shot:   Full shot
Effect:  Frames the character from head to toe. Focus is on the character’s movement and actions.

Shot: Tracking Shot
Effect:   The camera follows an individual or object as it moves through a scene. This is normally used in high-action scenes.

Lighting:High Key Lighting
Effect: A picture which is relatively light. Usually positive.

Lighting: Low Key Lighting
Effect: A picture which is relatively dark. Usually scary.
